FCC - FUEL CONDITIONER CONCENTRATE

This amazing product is designed to address a problem that is almost endemic throughout many parts of the world; degraded diesel fuel. Often without even realising there is a problem, operators waste fuel through inefficient combustion and tolerate  maintenance schedules and expenses that could be dramatically reduced through restoration of fuel to refinery grade quality

Does this sound like your place?

  • Dangerous black smoke emissions (poor combustion).
  • Constant blockage of filters.
  • Deposits of gums and varnishes.
  • Shortened injector life. Pump problems.
  • Expensive maintenance and breakdowns.
  • Presence of sludge and other deposits in tanks.
  • Turbidity of fuel samples.
  • Excess water.

These are all common signs of problems with diesel fuel.

How does the fuel degrade?

  • No fuel, especially diesel and Bio Fuels travels or stores well in many environments. During transport and storage and through no fault of the fuel suppliers, it is often decanted many times from tank to tank and picks up moisture through condensation and leakage. Water may also be deliberately substituted for fuel at any point in the supply chain.
  • Fungal spores, yeast and bacteria are commonly found in almost every environment and the water usually present in a diesel fuel tank provides a perfect breeding ground for contaminants to develop.
The most common of these is “Hormoconis Resinae” – the dreaded Diesel Bug. At its worst, serious infestations can cause complete breakdowns but even milder levels of contaminants will quickly start wasting fuel and creating avoidable maintenance expenses. (A more technical and complete explanation of fuel contamination  is available on our web-site).
  • Over time, increased fuel consumption and increased maintenance schedules become accepted and attributed to a variety of other factors when often, it is mainly inefficient combustion caused by fuel-related issues

The Solution

ChoiceChem’s FCC is by far the most scientifically complex and complete treatment for restoring degraded fuel ever devised. It is very different from every other “Fuel additive” you may have ever been exposed to, as you will see from some of the more technical information we can provide.

It contains no Hydrocarbons, Sulphur, Phosphorus or metallic ingredients. It burns completely to carbon dioxide and water, is non- corrosive, biodegradable and pH neutral. FCC will not impact the octane or cetane rating of your fuel nor alter its viscosity. It requires no more than common sense during handling, is approved for transport by air and requires no UN number. FCC works on all common fuel types and far better than anything else on the market as we will demonstrate any time on-site, at your invitation.

The starting point is to work with your engineers and suppliers to determine the present status of your fuel supplies and understand your fuel protocols to determine the best method for introducing FCC permanently into the system and to minimise any loss of current fuel stocks. • Whenever possible, prior mechanical removal of excess water and large-scale deposits of sludge in tank bottoms is advisable. FCC will cope with whatever is left, over time.

  • If introduced water is an unavoidable problem at your site, together we will devise a means of settling it out and draining it before these fuel stocks enter the main supply and are treated with FCC. Normally sites accustomed to dealing with excess water have sensible protocols anyway and we recommend these continue. FCC will still produce major improvements from the current fuel numbers and maintenance schedules.
  • FCC is a uniquely concentrated formula that produces full performance at a dilution rate of 1:4000. We will also work with your engineers to introduce automated dosing equipment to your site to make the whole process seamless.
    FCC cannot be over-dosed
  • Immediately FCC is introduced, it will emulsify the water thereby removing the environment in which the fungus grows. In the initial stages, FCC will allow this complex mix of fuel, water and contaminants to burn faster and more efficiently than any other product we have ever tested.
  • Even so, an unavoidable part of the FCC process is to mobilise the contaminants in the fuel, tank and lines and this will create particulate matter that needs to either be filtered out or burned in combustion. We always recommend as a precaution that when FCC is added, spare fuel filters be on hand to cope with this increased requirement. Once the initial clean-out is completed, filter replacement eases back to normal levels and eventually replacement cycles become longer than ever before.
  • Over time, a constant supply of treated fuel with FCC at 1:4000 will start to break down the build up of gums and varnishes throughout the whole fuel system. It will extend the life of lines, pumps, gaskets, injectors and anything else currently being asked to cope with degraded fuel.
In many instances the presence of sulphur in fuel that is being inefficiently burned can lead to serious and potentially disastrous degradation of lubricating oil quality and to a build up of corrosive agents in the system. FCC also dramatically reduces this risk.
  • Once the system is clean (a matter of weeks, even at a major site), the problems will never return whenever FCC is present in the recommended dosage. Excess water still needs to be monitored
FCC is effective whenever degraded fuel presents operational problems whether it be on a fishing boat, a crane or a truck or bus.

If any of the problems outlined above apply to you, if you see clouds of black smoke or suffer constant Fuel-related breakdowns work out your fuel capacity and use FCC at 4000:1 permanently and watch your problems disappear.

A typical 100 litre car fuel tank only needs 25ml of FCCat each fill to run as the manufacturer intended.

It is also suitable for use in petrol/ gasoline and two stroke fuel applications.
